Looking back at the Olympics

Just the other day, I found myself watching YouTube videos, yet again. I stumbled along a montage of Canada's best moments at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, set to 'I Believe' by Nikki Yanofsky. Sure, the Olympics have been over for quite sometime, but I realized just how amazing those exciting times were.

When you think about it, the fact that a round piece of gold medal can bring together an entire country, is amazing. Each and every day, you just felt happy knowing that you are being connected, whether its through your tv, your phone, or even the internet, with all of your fellow countrymen.

Just knowing that every day, every hour, even every minute, you could be witnessing Canadian history, was unbelievable. It took Sidney Crosby only one split-second to forever change Canadian history. With that one shot, that one golden goal, he was able to connect, even further so, over 30 million individuals who had become united as one over 16 triumphant days

The 17 days of the 2010 Olympics were truly magical; the city of Vancouver came alive as the streets were flooded with visitors from all over the world.

I have to say that living in Vancouver during the games is something that I will treasure forever. It made me so proud to be a Canadian - and to see Canada get our first Olympic Gold Medal on home soil was thrilling!
